C Company barracks: Two-story barracks (including company's headquarters offices) taken from my 2nd story barracks room window. The company armorer and I shared a large room together, which was the envy of the line troops who were billeted more compactly in their rooms. Each of the two-story barracks buildings connected to the single-story mess hall area in a "U" shape. The mess hall also doubled as the payroll dispersion area. (Each company gladly employed four or five male German civilians to perform the KP duties routinely carried out by us troops back in the States.) |
